Doctors are urging all persons over the age of 40 to stop taking the most common pain relievers ever – Ibuprofen. This is the reason the doctors are urging people to stop taking it.
They warn that the risks of taking Ibuprofen could outweigh the benefits. Ibuprofen can temporarily lessen the pain of a minor headache, but is it worth a heart disease? The FDA in 2005 issues a warning stating that Ibuprofen is able to significantly increase the chances of getting a heart disease! They say that even with short term use, one person’s stroke and heart attack risk significantly increases.
According to the FDA :
This risk increases the longer a person continues to use ibuprofen”
“You don’t need to have an existing heart condition to be at a risk, even though such a condition does increase the chances”
“These risks make ibuprofen especially dangerous to persons having more than 40 years – the age at which one’s risk of heart disease starts to skyrocket”
Ibuprofen is able to increase the chance of a heart attack by nearly 20%. The health warning over the use of NSAIDs, the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs comes after analysis that was published in The British Medical Journal involving nearly 10 million patients. NSAIDs are the drug class that groups together the drugs that provide antipyretic and analgesic effects.
The chance of having a heart attack is a huge price to pay for the relief of some headache. There are many other natural ingredients that could help relieve a pain just as well as the leading NSAID. Moreover, you get the benefits while skipping out on the harsh effects of these drugs.
